What Steps Can I Take to Earn Passive Income with My RV in Lexington?

Lexington calls itself the Horse Capital of the World, and its calendar backs that up. Keeneland races every April and October, the Kentucky Horse Park hosts major competitions, and the 2026 Breeders' Cup comes to Keeneland on October 30 and 31. Add University of Kentucky football Saturdays and climbing trips to the Red River Gorge, and plenty of visitors want a place to sleep near the action. Our RV rental management program lets your RV be that place. RV Management USA matches it with a Fleet Manager who lists it, vets renters, and cleans and inspects it between trips, while you choose the weeks you keep for yourself.

Be Part of the Lexington Rental Circuit

Bluegrass horse farms ring Lexington, and the best way to see that world up close is the Kentucky Horse Park, a 1,224 acre working horse farm and competition venue on the north side of town. Its campground has 260 paved sites with electric and water, a pool, a camp store, and access to the 12 mile paved Legacy Trail. South of the city, Raven Run Nature Sanctuary protects 734 acres along the Kentucky River, with ten miles of trails through meadows, woods, and streams. Bourbon distilleries dot the surrounding counties, and the sandstone arches of the Red River Gorge are roughly an hour's drive east.

What are the benefits of an RV Rental Consignment Program for RV Owners in Lexington?

Consignment gives Lexington owners rental income from their RV without the job of running the rentals. A Fleet Manager writes and updates the listing, replies to guest questions, approves each reservation, handles check-in and return day, cleans the RV, and lines up maintenance when it is due, keeping in touch with each renter along the way. The Bluegrass gives that RV plenty of work. Race fans come for Keeneland's spring and fall meets, riders and spectators fill the Kentucky Horse Park for competitions, climbers head to the Red River Gorge, and road-trippers follow the bourbon distilleries in the surrounding counties. Renters book race weekends, family camping at the Horse Park, Wildcats football Saturdays, and fall foliage getaways. The main benefits are income potential, professional rental support, cleaning and inspection after each trip, far less time spent on renters, and the freedom to take the RV out yourself whenever you like. A rig that would otherwise wait out the off weeks in a Fayette County lot can help pay for itself instead.

Can you legally rent your RV in Lexington?

Yes. Renting out an RV is legal in Lexington once it has a clean title, current Kentucky registration, and insurance that covers rental use. Through RV Management USA, every trip is protected through an approved rental platform or commercial rental policy. Owners should still set money aside for taxes on rental income and check Lexington-Fayette Urban County rules, any HOA limits on parking an RV at home, and their storage facility's terms. Our team walks you through each step, and RV Management 101 lays out the details.

How much money can I make with RV rental management in Lexington?

What a Lexington RV earns depends on its type, location, season, condition, how many dates stay open, and local demand. Keeneland race weeks in April and October, competitions at the Kentucky Horse Park, and summer trips to the Red River Gorge can make for strong months. As a general estimate, many owners earn around $567 to $1,678 per month. Drivable motorhomes, newer units, bunkhouse floor plans for families, and RVs kept close to the Horse Park and I-75 usually perform best. See what yours could bring in with our RV rental income calculator.

What types of RVs earn the most rental income in Lexington?

The RVs that typically earn the most in Lexington are Class C and Class A motorhomes, which make a comfortable base for race days and horse shows. Bunkhouse travel trailers and camper vans also do well. Families like bunks for longer stays at the Horse Park campground, while couples and climbers often pick a van for the winding roads out to the Red River Gorge.

What is the typical RV storage cost in Lexington?

RV storage in Lexington typically runs about $56 to $129 per month in listed starting prices, and some of the lowest rates are promotional. Your cost depends on the RV's length and type and on amenities such as gated access or security cameras. Covered or indoor spaces cost more than an open outdoor lot, and both are available around Lexington and in nearby towns like Georgetown, Nicholasville, and Winchester.

Will my RV be maintained properly?

Our territory managers work with professional on-site maintenance teams to make sure your RV is meticulously maintained throughout the year. Your RV will benefit form ongoing attention and basic maintenance like tire checks before and after each rental, roof and slide out checks once a month, ongoing appliance testing, routine oil changes, and more. We want your RV in top shape all the time so that it can continue to perform well and generate revenue. As an RV owner in our program, there are 3 main types of maintenance costs to consider:

1) Routine maintenance: Oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Owners are billed periodically for these expenses at discounted rates, and the deduction can often come directly from the rental profits in a given month.
2) Rental Damages: Any damage to an RV that happens on a rental will be covered fully by the renter's security deposit and/or the commercial insurance coverage. Our managers deal with all claims and repairs at no cost to the RV owner - renters pay the deductible and your personal insurance is not involved.
3) Systemic maintenance: Systemic issues are the responsibility of the RV owner. A/C failure, water pump failure, fridge or hot water tank failure, etc. These are costs that arise from no fault of the renter. Warranty protection plans usually cover these systemic repairs, and our managers work with the warranty company and RV techs to get these fixed. Our managers will work with you to get your RV back in top shape as quickly and professionally as possible.

What is the busiest RV rental season in Lexington?

Lexington's busy stretch usually spans May to November, with April race weeks at Keeneland giving it an early start. Weather and the local event calendar can shift demand. The fall meet at Keeneland runs October 2 to 24, 2026, and the track then hosts the Breeders' Cup World Championships on October 30 and 31, 2026. December through March is the quietest period.

How does RV rental management work in Lexington?

Lexington owners are paired by RV Management USA with a Fleet Manager who cleans, maintains, lists, and rents the RV on their behalf, with your personal dates blocked off first. Local owners benefit from demand that comes from well outside the region, as racing fans, horse show competitors, and Breeders' Cup visitors arrive needing somewhere to stay.
