Hershey draws families nearly year round, which gives local RV owners a deep pool of renters. Summer visitors come for Hersheypark and Hershey's Chocolate World, fall brings Hersheypark Halloween, and Christmas Candylane keeps the lights on from November into January. Many of those guests would rather sleep in a motorhome at a nearby campground than book several hotel rooms, especially families traveling with kids and grandparents. If your RV is parked between your own trips, our RV rental management program can put it in front of them. We handle the listing, screening, and turnovers, and you can still hold dates for your own getaways.

Chocolate is the headline, but the area around Hershey works just as well for RV travelers who like the outdoors. Hersheypark, open since 1906, sits next to ZooAmerica, an 11-acre wildlife park with animals from across North America. A short drive north, Swatara State Park covers 3,520 acres of fields and woods in the Swatara Valley between Second and Blue mountains, with paddling, fishing, biking, and horseback riding. Head south and Gettysburg National Military Park is about an hour's drive away, while the Harrisburg riverfront and the farm stands of Lancaster County are close enough for an easy day trip.
Consigning your RV in Hershey means it can earn from visitors without you handling the rentals yourself. A Fleet Manager builds the listing, responds to guest questions, manages reservations and renter communication, handles check-in and return, and arranges cleaning, inspections and maintenance. Hershey is a strong fit because families come nearly all year: Hersheypark and Hershey's Chocolate World in summer, Hersheypark Halloween in October, and Christmas Candylane from November into January, with Swatara State Park, Gettysburg and Lancaster County close by. Those visitors book family vacations, long theme park weekends, holiday trips and multigenerational getaways, often at nearby campgrounds instead of several hotel rooms. The key benefits are income across summer, Halloween and the holidays, professional handling of every booking, regular cleaning and inspection, less of your week spent on renters, and dates held for your own getaways. Regular use also keeps the generator, slides and tires in working shape, which is better for the rig than another season parked in a storage lot.
Yes, owners in Hershey can rent their RV legally, provided it is properly titled, carries current Pennsylvania registration and has insurance for renters, and owners should confirm the state's current inspection requirements for their RV. Every booking is safeguarded via an approved rental platform or commercial rental policy. Ask a tax professional about applicable taxes, and look at local ordinances, HOA covenants and your storage facility's terms on commercial use. RV Management USA guides owners along the way, and RV Management 101 explains how the program handles the rest.
Hershey income is shaped by the RV's type and condition, its home base, the season, how many dates are open and local demand. Summer park season pays well, with the Halloween and holiday events adding bookings later in the year. As a general estimate, late-model RVs earn about $450 to $1,100 per month during the summer rental season. Class C motorhomes, bunkhouse floor plans and newer RVs close to Hersheypark tend to perform best. For a closer number, plug your RV into our RV rental income calculator.
Hershey's highest earners are usually Class C motorhomes with a cab-over bunk and bunkhouse travel trailers. Class A motorhomes, camper vans and small trailers also find renters. Theme park families want sleeping space and a rig that can stay parked at a campground for several nights, while couples planning Gettysburg or Lancaster County weekends choose smaller units. Owners closer to the Poconos can check our Scranton page.
Hershey area owners commonly pay $100 to $225 a month to store an RV ($3 to $7.50 per foot per month, based on a 30 foot rig), so a long fifth wheel costs more to keep than a compact trailer. RV type and extras like extended access hours also push the rate up, and enclosed or covered spots cost more than outdoor spaces. Both are available around Hershey and Harrisburg, and a roof helps through central Pennsylvania winters.
Our territory managers work with professional on-site maintenance teams to make sure your RV is meticulously maintained throughout the year. Your RV will benefit form ongoing attention and basic maintenance like tire checks before and after each rental, roof and slide out checks once a month, ongoing appliance testing, routine oil changes, and more. We want your RV in top shape all the time so that it can continue to perform well and generate revenue. As an RV owner in our program, there are 3 main types of maintenance costs to consider:
1) Routine maintenance: Oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Owners are billed periodically for these expenses at discounted rates, and the deduction can often come directly from the rental profits in a given month.
2) Rental Damages: Any damage to an RV that happens on a rental will be covered fully by the renter's security deposit and/or the commercial insurance coverage. Our managers deal with all claims and repairs at no cost to the RV owner - renters pay the deductible and your personal insurance is not involved.
3) Systemic maintenance: Systemic issues are the responsibility of the RV owner. A/C failure, water pump failure, fridge or hot water tank failure, etc. These are costs that arise from no fault of the renter. Warranty protection plans usually cover these systemic repairs, and our managers work with the warranty company and RV techs to get these fixed. Our managers will work with you to get your RV back in top shape as quickly and professionally as possible.
Memorial Day through Labor Day is the busy stretch in Hershey, when Hersheypark and its water park are in full swing. Weather and events extend the calendar, with Hersheypark Halloween drawing weekend visitors in October and Christmas Candylane bringing families back from November into January. Late winter is usually the quietest time.
Once your RV is in the program, a Fleet Manager arranged by RV Management USA takes over the Hershey listing, rents it to visiting families, cleans it after each trip and keeps maintenance on schedule. Summer park weeks, Hersheypark Halloween and Christmas Candylane keep those families coming. For the bigger picture, see our Pennsylvania page, or compare a nearby market like Allentown.
