Milwaukee summers are short and packed. Summerfest takes over the lakefront, the Harley-Davidson Museum draws riders from around the country, and weekends fill with trips to the Kettle Moraine, Door County and the lakes of southeast Wisconsin. With so much crammed into a few warm months, renters look for RVs well before Memorial Day, and an RV that stays parked through that rush misses its best chance to pay its way. Sign up for RV rental management and RV Management USA assigns a Fleet Manager to list your RV, vet renters, run each pickup and return and clean it between trips. Claim your own weekends first, then let the rest of the summer earn for you.

Less than an hour west of downtown, the Kettle Moraine State Forest Southern Unit covers more than 22,000 acres of glacial hills, kettle lakes and prairie, with more than 100 miles of hiking, biking and horse trails, three family campgrounds and backpack shelters along the Ice Age Trail. Back in the city, the Lake Michigan shoreline, the Milwaukee Riverwalk and the Harley-Davidson Museum make easy day stops, and the city's brewing history still shows up in neighborhood taprooms. Summerfest, one of the country's biggest music festivals, brings hundreds of artists to the lakefront grounds each summer.
Through a consignment program, an RV in Milwaukee can produce rental income while its owner stays out of the rental business. Your Fleet Manager creates and manages the listing, responds to renters, books and confirms trips, runs the check-in and return, cleans the RV after each rental, schedules maintenance as needed and keeps in touch with renters on the road. Southeast Wisconsin keeps that calendar busy: Summerfest crowds on the lakefront, campers bound for the Kettle Moraine, families driving north to Door County, and riders in town for the Harley-Davidson Museum. Renters book family vacations, festival weekends, quick lake getaways and fall color trips. As an owner you get income potential, a professional handling each rental, cleaning and inspection after every trip, fewer hours spent on renters and the freedom to block off your own dates. An RV that waits out most of a Wisconsin summer in storage is a missed opportunity, and the program lets those weeks start paying you back.
Yes. Owners in Milwaukee County can rent out an RV so long as the title has never been branded salvage, Wisconsin registration is up to date, and the insurance covers rental use. Protection on each booking comes from an approved rental platform or commercial rental policy. Budget for taxes on rental income, and check city rules, HOA restrictions in suburbs like Wauwatosa or Brookfield, and your storage facility's pickup policy. Our team works through these points with owners, and our RV Management 101 page has the basics.
Rental income for an RV in Milwaukee varies by RV type, storage location, season, condition, availability and how strong local demand is. Summerfest weeks, Kettle Moraine camping and Door County trips make June through August the most lucrative stretch. As a general estimate, many owners here earn around $550 to $1,725 per month. Motorhomes and travel trailers with double over double bunk floor plans earn more, especially newer units kept rental ready and RVs stored close to I-94 and I-43. Run your numbers with the RV rental income calculator.
Bunkhouse travel trailers, especially double over double floor plans, and motorhomes typically earn the most in Milwaukee, with Class C models and camper vans the steadiest of the drivable options. Families camping in the Kettle Moraine want room for four kids, while Summerfest groups and Door County couples look for a rig that is simple to drive and park.
Budget about $100 to $225 a month to store an RV in Milwaukee ($3 to $7.50 per foot per month, based on a 30 foot rig). The price rises with length, RV type and features like gated access or power, and covered or indoor parking costs more than outdoor. Both types exist across the metro and out toward Wauwatosa and Brookfield, and with Wisconsin winters, many owners decide a roof is worth it.
Our territory managers work with professional on-site maintenance teams to make sure your RV is meticulously maintained throughout the year. Your RV will benefit form ongoing attention and basic maintenance like tire checks before and after each rental, roof and slide out checks once a month, ongoing appliance testing, routine oil changes, and more. We want your RV in top shape all the time so that it can continue to perform well and generate revenue. As an RV owner in our program, there are 3 main types of maintenance costs to consider:
1) Routine maintenance: Oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Owners are billed periodically for these expenses at discounted rates, and the deduction can often come directly from the rental profits in a given month.
2) Rental Damages: Any damage to an RV that happens on a rental will be covered fully by the renter's security deposit and/or the commercial insurance coverage. Our managers deal with all claims and repairs at no cost to the RV owner - renters pay the deductible and your personal insurance is not involved.
3) Systemic maintenance: Systemic issues are the responsibility of the RV owner. A/C failure, water pump failure, fridge or hot water tank failure, etc. These are costs that arise from no fault of the renter. Warranty protection plans usually cover these systemic repairs, and our managers work with the warranty company and RV techs to get these fixed. Our managers will work with you to get your RV back in top shape as quickly and professionally as possible.
Late May to early October is the rental season for RVs in Milwaukee, and June through August is the peak. Weather and events can shift that. Summerfest runs on the lakefront in late June and early July, and September and early October bring color trips to the Kettle Moraine and Door County. Winter is slow, so it's a good time to schedule service and plan your own spring trip.
Owners in Milwaukee who join RV Management USA are assigned a Fleet Manager to clean, maintain, list and rent their RV, with updates on every booking. Any dates you hold back stay yours. Local owners benefit from festival visitors and metro families who want a week in the Northwoods or on Lake Michigan without owning a camper.
