Few cities send out as many road trips as San Francisco. Visitors land at SFO and Oakland with plans for Highway 1, Napa and Sonoma, Yosemite or the redwoods, and most locals have no room to keep an RV in the city. That gap is your opportunity. With RV Management USA's RV rental management, your motorhome or camper van is handled by Let's Go Camping RV Rentals, our local Fleet Manager for the Bay Area, based in Livermore. They list it, vet renters, coordinate pickups and keep it spotless between trips. Instead of paying Bay Area storage rates for a parked rig, you collect income from the travelers who need one.
Full commercial rental insurance on every trip. Your personal premiums are never affected.
It's still your RV. Reserve it for your own vacations whenever you want, at no charge.
We offer discoutned storage at all our locations.

San Francisco is the starting line for some of California's most photographed drives. Cross the Golden Gate Bridge and Highway 1 bends north through Marin toward Point Reyes National Seashore, a favorite day trip for lighthouse views and tule elk. The seashore itself only allows hike-in and boat-in camping, so RVers base at nearby Marin and Sonoma coast campgrounds. Head south and the same highway runs past Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz toward Monterey and Big Sur. Napa and Sonoma wine country sit within easy reach to the north, and Yosemite is a classic long weekend to the east. Back in the city, Golden Gate Park hosts some of the region's biggest music festivals.
San Francisco owners can put an RV into consignment and collect rental income without ever handling a booking. Our local Fleet Manager for the Bay Area, Let's Go Camping RV Rentals in Livermore, handles the listing, guest questions, bookings, cleaning, check-ins and returns, maintenance coordination, and renter communication. The demand here comes from visitors arriving at SFO and Oakland with plans for Highway 1 and Point Reyes, Napa and Sonoma wine country, Yosemite, the redwoods, and Big Sur, plus festival crowds in Golden Gate Park. Renters book family vacations, coast drives, wine country weekends, festival trips, and long weekends in the Sierra. For owners that adds up to income potential, professional support on each rental, regular cleanings and inspections, little time lost to renter logistics, and the rig for your own trips whenever it isn't booked. Bay Area storage is expensive enough that an idle rig quickly turns into a monthly bill, so letting travelers pay to use it makes far more sense than paying to keep it parked.
Yes. For San Francisco owners, renting an RV is legal when its title, registration, and insurance are all current. A personal policy typically ends once someone pays to use the RV, so each booking needs an approved rental platform or commercial rental policy behind it. Parking is the local catch: the city restricts oversized vehicles on many streets, condo and HOA rules may prohibit RVs, and storage contracts can limit renter access. Keep records for applicable taxes as well. People at RV Management USA can help you with the parking and paperwork questions, and our RV Management 101 page explains each step.
San Francisco earnings turn on RV type, location, season, condition, availability, and Bay Area demand. Busy summer months and festival weekends in Golden Gate Park can bring meaningful income, with coast and wine country trips steady around them. As a general estimate, many owners earn around $680 to $1,895 per month with a managed RV here. Camper vans and Class C motorhomes that handle city streets book most often, and recent model years, bunkhouse floor plans, and RVs close to the Livermore base also perform well. Try our RV rental income calculator to see what yours might bring in.
Camper vans and compact Class B models bring San Francisco owners the strongest returns, because renters can drive them across the Golden Gate, park at a trailhead, and still manage steep city hills. Class C motorhomes also do well with families heading to Yosemite or the Sonoma coast, and Class A coaches earn high nightly rates for group trips, though they book less often.
Bay Area storage is pricey: in and around San Francisco, an RV space typically lists from about $119 to $201 per month, going by starting prices in San Francisco and South San Francisco. Prices climb for longer rigs, bigger RV types, and better amenities, and covered or indoor spots cost more than outdoor spaces. Both options exist, though spaces inside city limits are scarce, so many owners look to the East Bay or the Peninsula, including near Livermore.
Our territory managers work with professional on-site maintenance teams to make sure your RV is meticulously maintained throughout the year. Your RV will benefit form ongoing attention and basic maintenance like tire checks before and after each rental, roof and slide out checks once a month, ongoing appliance testing, routine oil changes, and more. We want your RV in top shape all the time so that it can continue to perform well and generate revenue. As an RV owner in our program, there are 3 main types of maintenance costs to consider:
1) Routine maintenance: Oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Owners are billed periodically for these expenses at discounted rates, and the deduction can often come directly from the rental profits in a given month.
2) Rental Damages: Any damage to an RV that happens on a rental will be covered fully by the renter's security deposit and/or the commercial insurance coverage. Our managers deal with all claims and repairs at no cost to the RV owner - renters pay the deductible and your personal insurance is not involved.
3) Systemic maintenance: Systemic issues are the responsibility of the RV owner. A/C failure, water pump failure, fridge or hot water tank failure, etc. These are costs that arise from no fault of the renter. Warranty protection plans usually cover these systemic repairs, and our managers work with the warranty company and RV techs to get these fixed. Our managers will work with you to get your RV back in top shape as quickly and professionally as possible.
June through October is the busiest window for San Francisco rentals, as summer fog sends people inland to wine country and the Sierra. Weather and festivals both pull demand around: Outside Lands comes to Golden Gate Park in early August, and the free Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival fills the park in early October, during some of the city's warmest weeks. Winter is the slow stretch, apart from Tahoe snow trips.
