Sarasota draws visitors for white quartz sand, a busy arts calendar and an easy hop to the Gulf islands, and many of them would rather sleep in an RV than a beach hotel. Snowbirds, Siesta Key beachgoers and families on a Florida road trip all pass through. Our RV rental management program hands your coach or camper to a Fleet Manager, who sets the nightly rate, screens each renter, runs the handoffs and has it cleaned after every return. Instead of baking in a storage lot off I-75, the RV heads out on trips to Myakka, Venice and the barrier keys while you keep any weekends you want for yourself. You see the bookings and collect your share without answering a single renter message.

Sarasota mixes Gulf beaches with some of the wildest country left on Florida's west coast. East of town, Myakka River State Park covers 58 square miles and ranks among Florida's oldest and largest parks, with a Canopy Walkway over the treetops and the state's first designated wild and scenic river winding through prairie and marsh. Down in Osprey, Oscar Scherer State Park protects 1,400 acres of scrubby flatwoods, home to the Florida scrub-jay, a bird found nowhere else, plus 15 miles of trails and Lake Osprey, the only freshwater swimming lake in Sarasota County. Add Siesta Key, Lido Beach and The Ringling, and a week here fills up fast.
Handing an RV to a consignment program in Sarasota lets the owner collect rental income without having to run a rental business. A Fleet Manager writes the listing, replies to guest questions, approves bookings, cleans the RV between trips, meets renters for check-in and return, lines up maintenance and stays in contact with travelers while they are out. Sarasota is a strong place to do this because demand comes from many sides: Siesta Key and Lido Beach, the airboat and canopy trails at Myakka River State Park, the scrub-jay trails at Oscar Scherer, The Ringling museum campus, and Gulf drives south toward Venice and Englewood. Renters book family beach vacations, long winter escapes, weekend paddling trips and festival stays. The biggest gains for owners are steady income potential, professional help on every rental, regular cleaning and inspection, hours freed from renter calls, and their own dates held whenever they plan a trip. A coach that spends the season carrying visitors along the Gulf earns its keep, while one parked under the Florida sun simply ages.
Yes. Renting your RV out in Sarasota is legal once it carries a clean title, current Florida registration and insurance that allows rentals. Renters travel under protection from an approved rental platform or commercial rental policy, so your personal RV policy is not what covers them. Get a tax professional's read on state or local taxes, and review local rules, storage lot terms and HOA covenants, since many deed-restricted Sarasota County communities limit RV parking. Our RV Management USA staff will help you untangle all of it, and the full program is laid out in RV Management 101.
Income from an RV in Sarasota hinges on the kind of rig, its home base, the season, its upkeep, calendar availability and local demand. The December through March snowbird season, with Siesta Key beach days and trips out to Myakka River State Park, brings the strongest months. As a general estimate, owners here can make anywhere from $600 to $2,600 per month, depending on the RV. Motorhomes tend to lead, newer units book faster, bunkhouse layouts appeal to families touring Florida, and rigs kept close to the beaches stay busiest. Run your own numbers through our RV rental income calculator.
Top earners around Sarasota are usually Class C motorhomes, followed closely by Class A coaches. Family bunkhouse trailers and small camper vans for couples also rent well here. Plenty of visitors arrive by plane and want something they can drive straight onto Siesta Key or out to Myakka, and a powerful air conditioner counts for a lot when beach days stay hot most of the year.
Along this stretch of the Gulf Coast, Sarasota owners usually pay about $100 to $225 a month for RV storage ($3 to $7.50 per foot per month). RV length, RV type and extras such as gated entry or cameras shape the price, and a roof or enclosed bay costs more than an open lot. Covered storage is worth weighing under strong sun and during hurricane season. Indoor and outdoor choices can be found from the I-75 corridor north to Bradenton.
Our territory managers work with professional on-site maintenance teams to make sure your RV is meticulously maintained throughout the year. Your RV will benefit form ongoing attention and basic maintenance like tire checks before and after each rental, roof and slide out checks once a month, ongoing appliance testing, routine oil changes, and more. We want your RV in top shape all the time so that it can continue to perform well and generate revenue. As an RV owner in our program, there are 3 main types of maintenance costs to consider:
1) Routine maintenance: Oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Owners are billed periodically for these expenses at discounted rates, and the deduction can often come directly from the rental profits in a given month.
2) Rental Damages: Any damage to an RV that happens on a rental will be covered fully by the renter's security deposit and/or the commercial insurance coverage. Our managers deal with all claims and repairs at no cost to the RV owner - renters pay the deductible and your personal insurance is not involved.
3) Systemic maintenance: Systemic issues are the responsibility of the RV owner. A/C failure, water pump failure, fridge or hot water tank failure, etc. These are costs that arise from no fault of the renter. Warranty protection plans usually cover these systemic repairs, and our managers work with the warranty company and RV techs to get these fixed. Our managers will work with you to get your RV back in top shape as quickly and professionally as possible.
December through March is the peak RV rental season in Sarasota, when snowbirds and winter visitors arrive and spring break keeps March busy. Spring and fall stay steady, while the hot, rainy months from June through October are slower and storms can interrupt late summer trips. The Siesta Key Crystal Classic sand sculpting festival fills Siesta Beach each November, and the Sarasota Film Festival follows in April.
Once your RV is approved, we place it with a Fleet Manager who takes on the listing, renting, cleaning and upkeep, while you approve personal dates and receive your share of each booking. Our Fleet Managers in the region include Tampa RV Rentals, about an hour north in Tampa Bay. Local owners benefit from snowbird traffic and from renters landing at the Sarasota and Tampa airports. See our Florida, Tampa and Fort Myers pages for nearby markets.
