What Steps Can I Take to Earn Monthly Income with RV Rental Management?

Tacoma is one of the closest Puget Sound cities to Mount Rainier, with State Route 410 climbing toward the park's Sunrise area and the Nisqually entrance within reach to the south. The Tacoma Narrows Bridge leads west to the Kitsap Peninsula and Gig Harbor, and every September the Washington State Fair in nearby Puyallup draws huge crowds. Those trips create plenty of demand for owners in our RV rental management program. Your RV is assigned a Fleet Manager who photographs and posts it, vets each renter, meets them for pickup, checks the RV on return and cleans it before the next booking. Your rig can bring in monthly income during weeks it would otherwise sit idle, and the weekends you claim stay yours.

Tacoma's backyard runs from saltwater to glacier. Inside the city, Point Defiance Park covers 760 acres at the tip of a peninsula, with the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, Owen Beach and the Fort Nisqually living history site, and its outer Five Mile Drive loop is now open only to walkers and cyclists. Head east on State Route 410 and Sunrise, at 6,400 feet, is the highest point you can drive to in Mount Rainier National Park, with wildflower meadows and big views of Emmons Glacier from about early July into late September. Back downtown, the Museum of Glass and LeMay America's Car Museum fill a rainy afternoon.

What are the benefits of an RV Rental Consignment Program for RV Owners in Tacoma?

In a consignment program, an RV in Tacoma earns rental income and its owner skips the rental work. A Fleet Manager writes the listing, answers guests, confirms reservations, does the cleaning, greets renters at the start and inspects the RV at the end, arranges service and talks with renters throughout each trip. Tacoma has plenty pulling renters out the door: Sunrise and the White River side of Mount Rainier, Point Defiance Park and its zoo, the Kitsap Peninsula across the Narrows, and the Washington State Fair in Puyallup each September. Renters book family vacations, national park weekends, fair trips and Puget Sound getaways. The strongest benefits for owners are income potential, hands on rental support, cleanings and inspections between trips, little time spent with renters, and access to the RV whenever you reserve it. Rather than paying to park it all summer, you can let the busy months help cover what it costs to own.

Can you legally rent your RV in Tacoma?

Yes. To rent in Tacoma, the RV needs a title free of salvage issues, up to date tabs from the Washington DOL and a policy that allows renters. Each booking carries protection from an approved rental platform or commercial rental policy. Plan for taxes on the income, and look over HOA rules, city limits on parking big rigs and the terms of the lot where you keep it. RV Management USA's team will help you through setup, and RV Management 101 lays out how the program runs.

How much money can I make with RV rental management in Tacoma?

What an RV earns in Tacoma comes down to RV type, location, season, condition, availability and local demand. Summer trips to Mount Rainier and the Washington State Fair stretch in September bring the strongest income. As a general estimate, many owners here earn around $600 to $2,980 per month. Larger, newer motorhomes such as Class A and Class C models lead, bunkhouse units with extra beds attract families quickly, and RVs near the routes to Mount Rainier stay busy. Our RV rental income calculator can estimate yours.

What types of RVs earn the most rental income in Tacoma?

Bigger, newer motorhomes lead in Tacoma, with Class A and Class C models earning the most. Family bunkhouse trailers and Class B vans also stay busy. Families heading to Mount Rainier campgrounds want the space, though the steep, winding drive up to Sunrise favors mid size rigs over the longest coaches.

What is the typical RV storage cost in Tacoma?

Tacoma RV owners can figure on roughly $125 to $275 a month for storage ($4 to $9 per foot per month). Price follows the RV's length and type and what the facility includes, and a covered or fully indoor spot costs more than a gravel or paved outdoor space. Both are available around Tacoma and Pierce County, and a roof helps keep a rig dry through the long, rainy Puget Sound winter.

Will my RV be maintained properly?

Our territory managers work with professional on-site maintenance teams to make sure your RV is meticulously maintained throughout the year. Your RV will benefit form ongoing attention and basic maintenance like tire checks before and after each rental, roof and slide out checks once a month, ongoing appliance testing, routine oil changes, and more. We want your RV in top shape all the time so that it can continue to perform well and generate revenue. As an RV owner in our program, there are 3 main types of maintenance costs to consider:

1) Routine maintenance: Oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Owners are billed periodically for these expenses at discounted rates, and the deduction can often come directly from the rental profits in a given month.
2) Rental Damages: Any damage to an RV that happens on a rental will be covered fully by the renter's security deposit and/or the commercial insurance coverage. Our managers deal with all claims and repairs at no cost to the RV owner - renters pay the deductible and your personal insurance is not involved.
3) Systemic maintenance: Systemic issues are the responsibility of the RV owner. A/C failure, water pump failure, fridge or hot water tank failure, etc. These are costs that arise from no fault of the renter. Warranty protection plans usually cover these systemic repairs, and our managers work with the warranty company and RV techs to get these fixed. Our managers will work with you to get your RV back in top shape as quickly and professionally as possible.

What is the busiest RV rental season in Tacoma?

Tacoma's calendar fills from about June to September. Weather and events move demand: the Sunrise road usually opens around early July, and the Washington State Fair in Puyallup keeps bookings strong through September. The rainy winter months are the slowest stretch.
