How Can I Earn Rental Income with RV Rental Management?

Tennessee gives renters a reason to hit the road from one end of the state to the other. Music fans head to Nashville and Memphis, families drive east to the Smokies and Pigeon Forge, and college football weekends fill tailgate lots across the state every fall. A lot of those travelers want a motorhome or trailer for the trip but do not own one. If your RV is parked more than it is used, RV Management USA's RV rental management program can put it to work. A Fleet Manager lists it, screens renters, handles delivery or pickup, and cleans it after each trip, so it can produce income while you keep the right to save dates for personal getaways.

Be Part of the Tennessee Rental Circuit

Tennessee's RV highlights stretch across three very different regions. In the east, Great Smoky Mountains National Park is one of America's most visited national parks, with several developed campgrounds, an 11 mile one way loop through Cades Cove, and Kuwohi, the park's highest peak. Middle Tennessee is the starting point for the Natchez Trace Parkway, a 444 mile scenic drive through Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi that follows a historic route once linking Natchez to Nashville. Near Nashville, Percy Priest Lake and Cedars of Lebanon State Park offer easy weekend camping, while Chattanooga's riverfront and Memphis on the Mississippi round out a classic statewide loop.

What are the benefits of an RV Rental Consignment Program for RV Owners in Tennessee?

RV owners anywhere in Tennessee can put a rig on consignment and earn from it without turning into a rental business. A Fleet Manager handles listing the RV, answering guest questions, booking trips, cleaning between renters, check-ins and returns, coordinating maintenance and keeping renters informed, and in Middle Tennessee that is Travel Nashville RV Rentals in Old Hickory. The state gives renters reasons to travel end to end: Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Natchez Trace Parkway, Percy Priest Lake and Cedars of Lebanon near Nashville, Chattanooga's riverfront and Memphis on the Mississippi. Renters book family trips to the Smokies and Pigeon Forge, concert weekends in Nashville, lake weekends and college football tailgates. Main benefits include income potential, professional rental support, steady cleaning and inspections, less time spent managing renters, and personal use on any open weekend. An RV that only gets out for a few lake weekends a year can cover part of its loan, insurance and storage instead of standing idle.

Can you legally rent your RV in Tennessee?

Yes. Across Tennessee, an RV can be rented once it holds a proper title, current registration and insurance for rentals, and owners should check the state's current registration and inspection requirements for their RV. Coverage for every Tennessee booking runs through an approved rental platform or commercial rental policy. Plan for applicable taxes, and check city or county rules, HOA covenants and storage terms, since some facility contracts bar renters from picking up on site. RV Management USA can guide you through the details, and our RV Management 101 guide lays out every step.

How much money can I make with RV rental management in Tennessee?

What an RV earns in Tennessee depends on its type, region of the state, the season, its condition, availability and local demand. The strong months from May through October, with Smokies trips, Nashville concerts and football weekends, carry most of the year's income. As a general estimate, owners can earn around $700 to $1,800 a month while the RV is actively renting. Class C motorhomes and newer units tend to earn more on average, and bunkhouse trailers do well when delivered to lake campgrounds. For a closer number, enter your RV in our RV rental income calculator.

What types of RVs earn the most rental income in Tennessee?

Tennessee's top earners are usually Class C motorhomes and Class A motorhomes. Bunkhouse travel trailers delivered to lake campgrounds also do well, and so do camper vans for couples touring the mountains around Knoxville or the bluffs near Chattanooga. A Class C handles the Smokies, a stadium lot and a long Natchez Trace drive equally well, which is why it leads.

What is the typical RV storage cost in Tennessee?

Tennessee RV storage typically costs about $100 to $250+ a month ($3 to $8 per foot per month for a typical 30 foot RV), depending on the city. Length, type and amenities affect the price, and indoor or covered spots carry a premium that can pay off against heat, hail and spring storms. Indoor and outdoor choices are found around Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga, and Travel Nashville RV Rentals also stores RVs at its Old Hickory location.

Will my RV be maintained properly?

Our territory managers work with professional on-site maintenance teams to make sure your RV is meticulously maintained throughout the year. Your RV will benefit form ongoing attention and basic maintenance like tire checks before and after each rental, roof and slide out checks once a month, ongoing appliance testing, routine oil changes, and more. We want your RV in top shape all the time so that it can continue to perform well and generate revenue. As an RV owner in our program, there are 3 main types of maintenance costs to consider:

1) Routine maintenance: Oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Owners are billed periodically for these expenses at discounted rates, and the deduction can often come directly from the rental profits in a given month.
2) Rental Damages: Any damage to an RV that happens on a rental will be covered fully by the renter's security deposit and/or the commercial insurance coverage. Our managers deal with all claims and repairs at no cost to the RV owner - renters pay the deductible and your personal insurance is not involved.
3) Systemic maintenance: Systemic issues are the responsibility of the RV owner. A/C failure, water pump failure, fridge or hot water tank failure, etc. These are costs that arise from no fault of the renter. Warranty protection plans usually cover these systemic repairs, and our managers work with the warranty company and RV techs to get these fixed. Our managers will work with you to get your RV back in top shape as quickly and professionally as possible.

What is the busiest RV rental season in Tennessee?

Roughly May through October is the busy RV season across Tennessee. Weather, football schedules and big events can shift demand. June is big in Nashville when CMA Fest brings country music fans downtown for four days, and October pairs college football Saturdays with peak leaf color in the Smokies. Holiday lights in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge keep some winter weekends booked.
