Be Part of the Pennsylvania Rental Circuit

Pennsylvania's outdoors are bigger than most people expect. The state runs more than 120 state parks covering more than 300,000 acres, and many of them have campgrounds that fit RVs. In the Pennsylvania Wilds, Pine Creek Gorge, often called the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania, stretches about 47 miles and runs more than 800 feet deep at Leonard Harrison and Colton Point state parks, with the Pine Creek Rail Trail along the bottom. In the northwest, the Allegheny National Forest, the state's only national forest, covers more than 500,000 acres. Add the 22 named waterfalls at Ricketts Glen, the Gettysburg battlefield, Lancaster County farm country, and the Poconos, and one RV trip can cover a lot of ground.

What are the benefits of an RV Rental Consignment Program for RV Owners in Pennsylvania?

With consignment, RV owners in Pennsylvania earn from their rigs while the rental side is handled by someone else. A Fleet Manager advertises the RV, answers guests, books renters, cleans after each trip, oversees check-ins and returns, and coordinates maintenance and renter updates. In the region, our Fleet Managers include Finger Lakes RV Rentals across the state line in Hornell, New York. Pennsylvania has demand on every side, with renters from Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York and Baltimore heading to the Poconos, the Pennsylvania Wilds, Pine Creek Gorge, Gettysburg and the Little League World Series in Williamsport. They book family vacations, state park weekends, event trips and fall foliage getaways. Owners gain earning potential, professional rental support, routine cleaning and checkups, fewer hours tied up with renters, and their own trips whenever they hold the dates. An RV that books between your trips does more for you than one parked in a driveway all season.

Can you legally rent your RV in Pennsylvania?

Yes. An RV can be rented anywhere in Pennsylvania, from the Poconos to Pittsburgh, once it is titled, registered with PennDOT and properly insured, and owners should check the state's current inspection requirements for their RV. Each booking is protected under an approved rental platform or commercial rental policy. Ask a tax professional about applicable taxes, and note that township ordinances, HOA rules and storage lot contracts vary by municipality. The RV Management USA team will guide you through it, and our RV Management 101 page goes step by step.

How much money can I make with RV rental management in Pennsylvania?

Pennsylvania earnings vary by RV type, season, location, condition, availability and local demand. Late spring through fall, especially summer and foliage season, is when an RV here earns well. As a general estimate, booked RVs typically earn around $120 to $200 per night, and back-to-back weekends add up quickly. Drivable motorhomes, newer rigs and bunkhouse trailers near Hershey, the Poconos, Gettysburg and the Lehigh Valley book most consistently. Our RV rental income calculator factors in RV type and location.

What types of RVs earn the most rental income in Pennsylvania?

The Class C motorhome earns the most in Pennsylvania, followed by Class A motorhomes for group trips, tailgates and the Little League World Series. Camper vans and bunkhouse travel trailers also find steady renters. Class C rigs handle winding roads in the Poconos and the Wilds without a tow vehicle. Owners in western Pennsylvania can see our Pittsburgh page.

What is the typical RV storage cost in Pennsylvania?

Keeping an RV stored in Pennsylvania typically costs $100 to $225 a month ($3 to $7.50 per foot per month for a 30 foot rig). The cost depends on length, RV type and the facility's amenities, and covered or indoor spaces cost more than outdoor ones. Both are available from the Harrisburg and Hershey area to the Lehigh Valley and around Pittsburgh. Covered spaces often fill before winter, so owners who want protection from snow should reserve early.

Will my RV be maintained properly?

Our territory managers work with professional on-site maintenance teams to make sure your RV is meticulously maintained throughout the year. Your RV will benefit form ongoing attention and basic maintenance like tire checks before and after each rental, roof and slide out checks once a month, ongoing appliance testing, routine oil changes, and more. We want your RV in top shape all the time so that it can continue to perform well and generate revenue. As an RV owner in our program, there are 3 main types of maintenance costs to consider:

1) Routine maintenance: Oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Owners are billed periodically for these expenses at discounted rates, and the deduction can often come directly from the rental profits in a given month.
2) Rental Damages: Any damage to an RV that happens on a rental will be covered fully by the renter's security deposit and/or the commercial insurance coverage. Our managers deal with all claims and repairs at no cost to the RV owner - renters pay the deductible and your personal insurance is not involved.
3) Systemic maintenance: Systemic issues are the responsibility of the RV owner. A/C failure, water pump failure, fridge or hot water tank failure, etc. These are costs that arise from no fault of the renter. Warranty protection plans usually cover these systemic repairs, and our managers work with the warranty company and RV techs to get these fixed. Our managers will work with you to get your RV back in top shape as quickly and professionally as possible.

What is the busiest RV rental season in Pennsylvania?

Late May, around Memorial Day, through October is when Pennsylvania rentals run strongest. Weather swings and big local events nudge demand up or down. Musikfest fills Bethlehem in early August, and the Little League World Series comes to South Williamsport later that month. October foliage keeps the northern tier and the Poconos booked, and winter is slow apart from Hersheypark's Christmas Candylane.
