Can I Earn Rental Income with your Rental Management Program?

Kansas travel runs through Wichita. Interstate 35 and US 54 carry road-trippers through town, aviation and business visitors fly into Eisenhower National Airport, and locals head out each weekend for reservoirs at Cheney and El Dorado or the open Flint Hills. Many of those trips are easier with a camper, and not everyone owns one. If your RV spends more time parked than rolling, RV Management USA can put it to work. Through our RV rental management program, your Fleet Manager takes on the listing, renter checks, handoffs, and cleanings, while you keep ownership and the ability to save dates for yourself.

Full Commercial Insurance

Be Part of the Wichita Rental Circuit

Good RV trips start a short drive from Wichita. About 20 miles west, Cheney State Park wraps around the 6,800-acre Cheney Reservoir, a well-known sailing lake, with campsites offering electric and water hookups. Just east of the city, El Dorado State Park is one of the largest state parks in Kansas, with a wide choice of campsites. For something different, drive into the Flint Hills to Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, nearly 11,000 acres protecting a piece of an ecosystem that once covered 170 million acres of North America and is now less than 4% intact. Visitors can see the bison herd and tour the 1881 ranch house at Spring Hill Ranch.

What are the benefits of an RV Rental Consignment Program for RV Owners in Wichita?

RV owners in Wichita can earn from a rig on consignment while a Fleet Manager takes on the rental work, from the listing, guest questions and bookings to cleaning, check-ins and returns, maintenance coordination and renter communication. The city sits at the center of Kansas travel. Interstate 35 and US 54 carry road trippers through town, Cheney State Park and El Dorado State Park are close by, and Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in the Flint Hills draws visitors to its bison herd. Renters book reservoir weekends, family summer vacations, long road trips toward Colorado and Oklahoma, and event stays for Riverfest and the Kansas State Fair. Owners gain income potential, professional rental support, regular cleaning and inspections that keep generators, slides and seals in working order, fewer hours spent on renters, and the RV ready for them whenever they block dates for Cheney or a summer trip. When you are not using it, the RV can earn instead of gathering dust in storage.

Can you legally rent your RV in Wichita?

Yes. A private owner in Wichita can rent out an RV with a Kansas title and registration in order and insurance that covers rentals. Each booking is protected through an approved rental platform or commercial rental policy. Plan for applicable taxes, including any local taxes, and ask whether local ordinances, HOA restrictions and your storage lot's terms allow renter pickups. The RV Management USA team stays with you through setup, and our RV Management 101 page explains the rest.

How much money can I make with RV rental management in Wichita?

What an RV earns in Wichita changes with its type, how close it is kept to Cheney or El Dorado, the season, condition, how many open dates it has and local demand. Riverfest in June, summer reservoir weekends and Kansas State Fair season in September bring meaningful income, and most of it arrives between late May and September. As a general estimate, many RVs in our program here earn roughly $620 to $1,250 a month. Newer motorhomes and well-equipped bunkhouse trailers usually land toward the top. Use our RV rental income calculator for a number tied to your rig.

What types of RVs earn the most rental income in Wichita?

Wichita's biggest earners are bunkhouse trailers and fifth wheels, along with Class C motorhomes. Class A coaches also do well for State Fair stays in nearby Hutchinson, and compact camper vans suit the Flint Hills. Families stay put for several nights at Cheney and El Dorado, while Class C renters cover long highway days. Some renters also head south to Oklahoma City.

What is the typical RV storage cost in Wichita?

Wichita storage for an RV usually comes in at $85 to $200 a month ($3 to $7 per foot per month for a typical 30 foot RV). A compact trailer on gravel lands low, while a long motorhome in a secured, powered spot climbs higher. Paying extra for a roof or an indoor bay makes sense for many owners given Kansas hail and strong winds. Both kinds of space are around Wichita and out toward Cheney and El Dorado.

Will my RV be maintained properly?

Our territory managers work with professional on-site maintenance teams to make sure your RV is meticulously maintained throughout the year. Your RV will benefit form ongoing attention and basic maintenance like tire checks before and after each rental, roof and slide out checks once a month, ongoing appliance testing, routine oil changes, and more. We want your RV in top shape all the time so that it can continue to perform well and generate revenue. As an RV owner in our program, there are 3 main types of maintenance costs to consider:

1) Routine maintenance: Oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Owners are billed periodically for these expenses at discounted rates, and the deduction can often come directly from the rental profits in a given month.
2) Rental Damages: Any damage to an RV that happens on a rental will be covered fully by the renter's security deposit and/or the commercial insurance coverage. Our managers deal with all claims and repairs at no cost to the RV owner - renters pay the deductible and your personal insurance is not involved.
3) Systemic maintenance: Systemic issues are the responsibility of the RV owner. A/C failure, water pump failure, fridge or hot water tank failure, etc. These are costs that arise from no fault of the renter. Warranty protection plans usually cover these systemic repairs, and our managers work with the warranty company and RV techs to get these fixed. Our managers will work with you to get your RV back in top shape as quickly and professionally as possible.

What is the busiest RV rental season in Wichita?

Late May through September is the main booking season in Wichita. A heat wave, a stormy week or a big festival can move those bookings. Wichita Riverfest kicks off summer along the Arkansas River around the start of June each year, and in September the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson, about an hour northwest, adds another bump. Mild October weekends in the Flint Hills can still bring trips.

How does RV rental management work in Wichita?

Through RV Management USA, owners in Wichita get a Fleet Manager who handles listing, renting, cleaning and upkeep, raising rates for Riverfest and State Fair week and easing them in winter. Road trippers on I-35 and US 54 and visitors flying into Eisenhower National Airport keep local demand up. Our Kansas page covers the wider state, and our Kansas City page covers the metro to the northeast.
